Gutter Cleaning

As we prepare for the rainy season just before the coming winter months here in Maine, we would like to talk to you about your homes gutter system.
When your gutters and or your down spout are clogged, water gets backed up and starts to overflow. This can lead to some costly repairs down the road as the water runoff can cause damage to not only your roof as it backs up, but to your wall and foundation as well as the water runs down the exterior walls. The water can also at times get inside your home as well, causing even more damage to your interior walls.
Regular cleaning of your gutter system can help in preventing these costly damages down the road. I clean the gutters by hand, flush out the down spouts, bag and dispose of all the debris.
Call today for a FREE estimate, also ask us about minor gutter repairs.

I have a few openings for fall cleanups, fall over  seeding as well as some openings for dormant seeding. If you would like to schedule a time for a fall cleanup for later in October early November, simply give me a call today. I realize some like to wait until next spring, but in reality it ends up causing more damage and costing more more in the long run with the spring cleanup, as the leaves end up matted into the turf and it actually takes longer to cleanup, versus a fall cleanup along with along with a quick spring cleanup.

We are also headed into that time of year when its a good time to overseed your lawn before the fall rains begin, giving the new grass seed to take root before going dormant. I also offer dormant seeding, overseeding your lawn prior to the winter season after a fall cleanup has been preformed, giving your lawn a chance to get going in the spring before the weed grass has a chance to. We will be offering this service along with new lawn and lawn renovation work from now until mid- September.

Other fall projects include, but not limited to: soil testing, adding top soil and gutter cleanings, as we head int the fall and winter months here in Maine.

I only use top quality grass seed with a low weed seed percentage, insuring your lawn the best possible start that it can have.

On a side note, if you have applied a weed and feed for the fall season, we will not be able to overseed your lawn, as it will kill of some of the new grass seed.

If you would be interested in any of these services you can use the contact us page or you can give me a call at (207)-739-9022.

Hartford Yard Work

I received a call to do some yard work on a property located in Hartford Maine and took a ride over to the property to check it out and agreed to to the job. The job consisted of mowing of the lawn, which was around 3 feet tall and the cutting of some small trees along the house and barn as well as in front of the home and cleaning the trees and brush removal along the stonewall.

I did this one alone and it took me a full day to complete including the disposal of the grass clippings, wood from the trees and brush. I have attached some before and after pictures of the yard work that I preformed.

A New Season

Its been a busy week with some crazy weather here in Maine. I have been getting my gear ready for some spring cleanups and had the backpack blowers out and running them for awhile, it seemed good to get out there and use the equipment.
I will be getting the riding lawn mower fired up and out of the enclosed trailer this week, after I put  new bolt in the muffler. Also will need to get out my trimmers and get them running after  they have been sitting all winter.
The lawn care business is growing with some new clients, as well as some hardscaping and lawn renovation projects lined up for the spring. On one we will be building a natural stone wall along with landscaping the front lawn, replacing a retaining wall that was built with rail road ties that have rotted from improper drainage.
I have also seen a few new lawn care guys popping up here and there and would like to caution people looking to hire a lawn care provider here in Maine to check out any lawn care company prior to hiring them. I have written an article on this very subject  here: http://www.dtelawncare.com/?p=145 and would encourage everyone to take a moment and give it a read before hiring a lawn care provider.
